    Using this system you can communicate with the practice using
    automatic e-mail messages and reply forms.
    Please do not use this system for urgent medical requests,
    please use the normal telephone system for this.

    How does it work?
    How do I get started?
    This website allows you to access your practice services safely and securely. You will be able to make requests of your practice and receive responses back from the practice.

    The first time that you use this system you will need to register online. This only takes a couple of minutes. When you have entered your details the system will email a password to you which will enable you to login. When you login for the first time please change your password to something you will remember. You will need this password to use the system again in the future and to check on responses from the practice.

    How do I make a request?
    To make a request you will first need to login. You will then be shown a list of services available to you. Select the service you want to request.

    You will be prompted for information about the request. When you complete the request, the request is sent to the practice.

    The practice handles the requests during their normal working day. If you send a request on Friday evening the practice won't normally see it until Monday.

    Once the practice has processed your request they will send you a response either acknowledging the request or containing the information you requested.

    How do I Receive the Reponses from the Practice?
    Whenever you log back into the system you will be shown any new responses. If you wish to be notified that there are new responses waiting then you can be request an email be sent to you whenever there is a new response.

    The email does not contain any private information - it only informs you that there is a response waiting for you and that you should login to view it.

    Why don't we use email for sending requests?
    Email is not a secure method of communication. Even if you use a password to access your email it is no real protection to internet eavesdropping. Your email is sent in ordinary text, not encrypted, through the internet. Various people who have the right access, or who can run special programs, can easily intercept emails. And as they are not encrypted they can easily be read.

    Why is confidentiality important?
    You may not think that your health data is particularly important so it doesn't need to be protected. But it is not always your health information they are after, but the other information that is sent with it.

    Consider that to renew a prescription, for example, you will often need to send your full name, address and date of birth - plenty of information for identity theft.

    This service always uses fully encrypted connections, the same security as used in internet banking. If you look at the lower right corner of your browser you will see a small padlock icon. This indicates that you are using a secure link and that your data is encrypted.

    As an additional measure your information is held encrypted until the practice need to view it. It is then sent to the practice still encrypted and only converted to readable text at the practice.


    Online Repeat Prescriptions
    Using this system you can request repeat prescriptions by e-mail. Please enter clearly the name and dose of the drug requested. We will confirm your request by e-mail. Your prescription will be ready for collection after 48 working hours.

    Request or Cancel an appointment
    You can request or cancel appointments by email. As appointments are quickly filled up please only use this system for appointments three or more days ahead and provide us with a wide range of times you are available. We will confirm your appointment by email


    Change of Address
    It is important that we have an accurate record of your contact details. Please use this form if you have changed address, telephone number or e-mail address. You can also use this to advise if you have changed your surname.


    Feedback
    These Online Services are an exciting new addition to the practice services. As such we need your help to gauge how effective they are.
